One MANS Opinion: Episode 147 – Scot Free

Jeff Mans begins this week’s episode with a rant on how lousy conspiracy theories have gotten over the year including the new one surrounding Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin. He evolves into a full review of the NFL Divisional Playoff Round games. He wonders why the Bills are getting almost zero blame despite the majority of fans believing they were Super Bowl bound all season while the Dallas Cowboys are being dragged across all of sports media. This launches a full investigation into the last time each NFL team made it to the Super Bowl, conference championship game, divisional round playoff game, and each of their previous playoff appearances. Mans announces his Super Bowl 57 schedule which includes live shows Monday-Friday from radio row in Phoenix Arizona and a special episode of the One Mans Opinion Podcast. Finally, it is time to go on the record and break down the AFC and NFC Championship Games with the paths to victory for all four teams. Of course, Jeff gives out his favorite single-game parlay play of the week here as well.

One MANS Opinion: Episode 146 – Not Over It

Five days after the infamous Fanduel DFS shutdown, Jeff Mans is still fuming over the way it was handled and the lack of empathy toward their customers. Jeff goes over how customer service has become a lost art in sports and other industries. After the fiery start, he recaps all six NFL Super Wild Card Round playoff games including what went right and wrong for each team. Mans also goes over the five NFL head coaching vacancies right now and breaks down the assets each brings to the table. He makes his rankings of which spots are the most attractive to a potential head coach and who might be in the running for each job. Then it is time for a Divisional Round preview as Mans goes over all four games and identifies the most advantageous matchups for each team. If there is one thing you need to know about the One Mans Opinion Podcast is that it is about transparency always. As the NFL moves into the postseason, Jeff Mans is reviewing his advice, analysis, preseason predictions, rankings, fantasy leagues, DFS performances, and betting record from the 2022 NFL regular season. Jeff goes over what he got right and what he learned from being so wrong about teams like the Indianapolis Colts and players like Courtland Sutton. He gives his biggest takeaways from the season including the moments he made changes or realizations about certain situations. Jeff begins the show by discussing what it was like as the situation unfolded on Monday Night Football and how watching it all with his kids made a profound and lasting impact on him. Mans also explains why fantasy leagues shouldn’t be holding out for the Bills and Bengals to play down the road because if they do, it will open up many more problems than it is trying to solve. He gives out some of his favorite week 18 ideas to implement into your fantasy football leagues and makes the case for more leagues to play the entire regular season. The week 18 preview includes which teams are playing for something, which may be resting or limiting players, and which teams have draft stock to be aware of too. The final episode of 2022 has Jeff Mans reflecting on the year that was including where he was at in his personal life a year ago at this time. He reviews the year in sports including what he learned through the college basketball, USFL, MLB, and NFL seasons. After the recapping is done Mans discusses some of the changes that sports and fantasy sports need to make to stay on top of their game and engage their fans better. Then he takes a stroll down memory lane in remembering the random players that helped people win fantasy football championships the last few years. The names are definitely not those that you would expect which leads to a conversation about who this year's true “league winners” could be. One MANS Opinion: Episode 142 – Happy Holidays

The annual Christmas and holiday episode of One Mans Opinion features a lot of nostalgia and a lot of football talk this year. Jeff Mans begins the show by recapping a wild week 15 in the NFL. After a narrow loss in the HOFL League semi-final round, Jeff discusses balancing multiple leagues while also playing favorites. This leads into a discussion on how draft strategy shapes so much of our success and failures throughout the season and Mans looks back on how a few of his drafts propelled him to a successful season. He also reveals some alarming numbers about the lack of production from running backs in fantasy football this season. Because Christmas is his favorite holiday, Mans shares some of his fondest holiday memories including how his parents always found a way to make the season special. The fantasy football playoffs are here and Jeff Mans has the strategies you need to close out championships this season. Mans kicks off the show with a recap of the entire 2022 season beginning with the draft advice he gave last summer. He talks about which players and strategies worked out and which let us down this season. This leads into a conversation about new fantasy football league setups for the 2023 season including the need for team QB, total point playoff requirements, and having more FLEX spots in our lineups. Mans takes questions from the “MANS-Cave” Discord room over at Fantasy Guru where he answers some week 15 start/sit questions and some general strategy questions. Lamar Jackson’s injury particularly bothers Mans as he wonders if the soon to be free agent QB has cost himself more money than he would have made anyways. This propels him to talk about the difference between “dreamers” and “doers” and how the age of influencers has disrupted a once proud American ideal. Jeff also has the data to prove that scoring is down across the NFL and he puts it into a generational context so we can see the impact it has on fantasy, DFS, and betting this season. Jeff Mans is on fire as he begins the show with his response to the crazy “Tuanon” people that attacked his Twitter timeline this week. Jeff contends that if we continue to attack people for having opinions and providing analysis, we are left with a collective of same-thinking dullards. After that rant, Mans explains why he will not be posting bets in the Fantasy Guru discord room anymore and why transparency is the most significant need in the fantasy sports and betting industries right now. He also goes over the toughest fantasy football player decisions of the week which includes what to do with Browns QB DeShaun Watson returning to Houston in his first game in nearly two years. Jeff Mans is giving thanks this season to all that have supported him, Fantasy Guru dot com, the Elite Sports radio show, and this podcast this year. The week 11 recap is full of lessons learned in both DFS and NFL betting while he reviews the 10 players who have gotten injured in his DFS lineups this season. Jeff discusses the art of forming your bets first and then shopping them for the highest rate of return in the market something many beginning sports bettors fail to do.
