One MANS Opinion: Episode 140 – The American Plan

This week Mans is riding solo and recapping everything from NFL week 13 including DeShaun Watson’s first start, the rash of injured QBs, the surging Detroit Lions, the Cowboys' pursuit of OBJ and so much more. Lamar Jackson’s injury particularly bothers Mans as he wonders if the soon to be free agent QB has cost himself more money than he would have made anyways. This propels him to talk about the difference between “dreamers” and “doers” and how the age of influencers has disrupted a once proud American ideal. Jeff also has the data to prove that scoring is down across the NFL and he puts it into a generational context so we can see the impact it has on fantasy, DFS, and betting this season. He also goes over the players he is “in” on and “out” on for week 14 and reveals another Thursday Night SGP and the survivor, bet, and upset of the week.

One MANS Opinion: Episode 139 – Tuanon

Jeff Mans is on fire as he begins the show with his response to the crazy “Tuanon” people that attacked his Twitter timeline this week. Jeff contends that if we continue to attack people for having opinions and providing analysis, we are left with a collective of same-thinking dullards. After that rant, Mans explains why he will not be posting bets in the Fantasy Guru discord room anymore and why transparency is the most significant need in the fantasy sports and betting industries right now. He also goes over the toughest fantasy football player decisions of the week which includes what to do with Browns QB DeShaun Watson returning to Houston in his first game in nearly two years. He’s got another Thursday Night Football single-game parlay as well as survivor picks, best bet, and upset of the week here as well.

One MANS Opinion: Episode 138 – Thanks

Jeff Mans is giving thanks this season to all that have supported him, Fantasy Guru dot com, the Elite Sports radio show, and this podcast this year. Mans has a very special holiday message this week including a tribute to his late Uncle Ed and the joy he created during the holidays. The week 11 recap is full of lessons learned in both DFS and NFL betting while he reviews the 10 players who have gotten injured in his DFS lineups this season. Jeff discusses the art of forming your bets first and then shopping them for the highest rate of return in the market something many beginning sports bettors fail to do. He also reviews the crazy turnover at the QB position ahead of week 12 while discussing which running backs and wide receivers are the biggest winners and losers from these changes. If you listen before the early game on Thanksgiving, Mans gives out his scorching hot single-game parlay for the Bills/Lions game too. Then there are his survivor choices of the week, the best bet, and the biggest upset of the weekend to close out the episode.

His pappy used to say that there was nothing wrong with a good tight end, but that is harder than ever entering week 11 of the NFL regular season. Jeff Mans goes over all of the injuries and inconsistencies with the tight end position in fantasy football this season and breaks down who the best really are and which replacements are worth our time. Jeff has some choice words for anybody who criticized the Colts' hiring of Jeff Saturday especially if they got their job without extensive experience. After getting back on track in DFS NFL last week, Mans has some key strategies for building tournament lineups and explains why chasing previous performances has become the next epidemic. As always, he previews the upcoming week in NFL by giving out survivor picks, favorite bet, and the upset of the week.

Jeff Mans is fired up in this episode as he explains why he nearly had a nervous breakdown this week because of dealing with the negative attitude displayed by so many people. It begins with a recap of NFL week nine which culminates with a decision to pivot from Lions TE James Mitchell in his DFS NFL Core 4 which turned out to be a big mistake. Mans updates us on how his seasonal, DFS, and betting seasons are going so far since we have hit the midway point of the season. Jeff goes back to his preseason MANSifesto draft plan for fantasy football to see what has gone right and wrong through the first half o the season. He has a couple buy low players to scoop up right now as well and two more defenses that are rapidly improving too. Finally, Mans has a +130 single-game parlay for the Thursday Night Football game and gives his survivor pick and upset special as usual.

By popular demand, Jeff Mans begins this episode with his Halloween night “Ryan Fitzpatrick story” as teased on the Elite Sports Show this week. He then gives his reactions to all of the NFL trade deadline deals and breaks down who the big winners and losers are from the flurry of deals. Then he recaps a very profitable week eight in which the light bulb went on when it comes to betting on the games. Mans breaks down how alternate lines are the salvation many NFL bettors are searching for and gives examples of how losses have turned into wins in the last two weeks. The running back position has become incredibly difficult to navigate in fantasy football this season and Mans takes us through the dual backfield approach and why it is here to stay. He then breaks down the top 10 and bottom 10 backfields to invest in this year and reveals which teams have scored the most fantasy points and have the highest point share among RBs so far. As always Jeff looks ahead to week nine by giving out his survivor picks, the best bet of the week and his upset special.

You will still be able to get the podcast on all other platforms but the new partnership with SXM provides a lot of opportunities for the podcast now and in the future. Jeff Mans opens the show with the big announcement while reminiscing on his history with SiriusXM over the last 13 years. Then it is time to recap a painful week six which saw Mans and his Fantasy Guru team lose out on a six-million-dollar prize on Monday Night Football. With the NFL trade deadline looming, Jeff gives his favorite landing spots for a few potential trade candidates this week and makes a guarantee about Odell Beckham’s future. He runs through a few “Ask Mans Anything” questions from Discord before making his official Survivor pick, best bet, and upset of week eight.

Jeff Mans starts out this episode teasing a very big announcement coming in the next few weeks concerning this podcast. He discusses the benefit of fading the NFL news cycle which only seems to create confusion for fantasy managers in understanding players' true value. Jeff recaps how he was able to thread the needle of a very difficult week six in DFS and gives some of his takeaways from the last week. As good as seasonal and DFS have been of late, his NFL bets have faltered the last two weeks so he walks us through the plan to get back on track after a disappointing period. It is also time for the 2022 mid-season Fantasy Football Depth Chart as Mans goes over which players earn QB1, RB1, WR1, etc value for the rest of the season. He reviews why some players are higher and lower in the depth chart while breaking down their future outlook and schedule over the rest of the season.
