One MANS Opinion: Episode 71 – I Hate Liars

In this week’s episode, Mans is once again angry and sick of people pretending to be something they are not while lying to their customers. He goes on to confront some former colleagues about talking out of both sides of their mouths while ripping off both co-workers and customers alike. He also takes a listener's request to tell the rest of his 21st Birthday story in a tale that just passed the statute of limitations. Jeff also gives out the complete setup of his home fantasy football league and makes the argument why everybody should be playing all 18 weeks in 2021. He also gives out one of his bold predictions for the season in telling us his deep sleeper WR for this fantasy football season. He has not mentioned this name once anywhere else but in the Fantasy Guru Draft Guide and now on this episode.

In this week’s episode, Mans unleashes his secret weapon in Scott Bondar, a veteran of both the military and the fantasy sports industry. Scott discusses how fantasy sports provided a much-needed distraction for him during his military career and how his work ethic has got him to where he is within this super-competitive industry. The guys talk about the latest MLB cheating scandal, how this affects DFS MLB, and the newest analytics they are using at Elite Sports Data. They also reminisce on the transformation from Guru Elite to Elite Sports and Scott talks about what it's like to be friends with a Jeff Mans hater. Mans also announces that Scott will be taking over some DFS MLB Cash Game Breakdowns at Elite Fantasy and will be bringing his old friend the Dong Detector with him.

Jeff Mans is coming in hot on this week’s episode. The cheating across MLB and the lying across the fantasy sports industry has Mans all fired up and ready to fight. He also unveils the brand-new SMASH rating tool on Elite Fantasy. We finally get the backstory on why it has taken so long to go live and the mindset of developing something that will undoubtedly be copied by your peers. Jeff also gives his takeaways on the Julio Jones trade including a lesson on why coverages matter to fantasy football performance. Straight from the Draft Guide on Fantasy Guru, Mans gives us his top 10 RB situations to invest in and the 10 to stay away from in 2021. He finishes the show by revealing a couple of his bold predictions for the 2021 NFL season including his breakout fantasy player and must have running back this year.

Mans and Armando also reveal why they chose Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb for the cover of the Guide and why one of them believes he is the next Randy Moss. The guys also break down their “RB warning” lists and which rookies have landed in the most profitable spots. The one and only CJ Kaltenbach (aka The Seige, misspelled on purpose) joins Mans on this episode, and the duo dive right into an enormous 90+ minute chat. We get the full story of how CJ got into fantasy sports, starting out in the DFS industry, and what it was like to hang out at the bar with Jeff. We also find out why the Seige gave up a career as an attorney to play fantasy sports for a living. The guys tell stories of their worst DFS beats, the worst trolls on social media, and how they wound up working together at Elite Sports. This entire show is entwined during a spirited fantasy football mock draft for Fantasy Guru in which CJ and Jeff went to war over a certain rookie running backs value. This is one of the longest and most argumentative episodes yet!!
