One MANS Opinion: Episode 41 - My Russian Spy

This Thanksgiving Jeff Mans is giving thanks to his friend and fellow Elite Sports analyst Vlad Sedler. Vlad joins the show to discuss his career in fantasy sports and what it is like working with Mans for the past few years. The guys also get into what it was like growing up with immigrant parents/grandparents while Vlad shares stories of Alyssa Milano watching him play hockey and how he almost got the role of Eric Matthews in Boy Meets World. The boys share their secret love of hockey, analytics and staying at home. Vlad gives out a few of his top QB’s in DFS this week and the guy unveil their favorite survivor pool teams, favorite NFL bets and the upset of the week.

On this week’s episode we bring the best behind scenes guy in the business in front of the mic.  SiriusXM and Elite Sports producer Phil Backert joins Mans to discuss how he got into the radio business, his first impression of an all fantasy sports channel and what it has been like working with Jeff for the last decade. The guys discuss ways to improve fantasy sports, the impact of Covid-19 in sports and why IDP is the best way to play fantasy football. Phil also gives out his favorite survivor pool pick, best best of NFL week 11 and his upset special.

By popular demand, this week’s podcast is a game by game preview of week 10. On this week’s episode Jeff reunites with his former “Every Mans Fantasy” co-host and current “Fantasy Hangover” host Pilar Lastra. The duo discusses how they got teamed up nearly a decade ago and exchange stories of what it was like working with each other over the years. Pilar discusses what it was like being pregnant during the pandemic, her time on Deal or No Deal and how she got into fantasy football. Jeff & Pilar eventually get into the week eight matchups and discuss their favorites for fantasy, DFS and sports betting purposes.

Ted Schuster joins Jeff Mans on this week’s episode to talk about how the Texans two-point conversion created a firestorm on social media about the impact of math in fantasy football. Then Jeff & Ted get into a behind the scenes discussion of their respective DFS processes and how it all leads up to their Core 4 on Friday. Ray Flowers joins Mans for this special hour and a half edition of One Mans Opinion. They guys talk about the Fanduel live scoring controversy from week five as well as give you a peak behind the curtain on how the fantasy sports industry handles their businesses. Then midway through the show the breaking news of Le’Veon Bell signing with the Chiefs breaks and the boys break down what this move means for Bell, Clyde Edward-Helaire, the Chiefs and fantasy owners. Ray & Jeff also give their starts & sits of the week as well as picks for survivor pools, best bet of the week and the upset special.

Despite another winning week, Jeff Mans is angry and goes on an opening rant about how everybody wanting to be the hero every week is costing them money. He reflects on the Joe Mixon call from week four before discussing all of the news heading into week five. Mans also gives a pep talk to Nick Chubb and Austin Ekeler owners and provides a couple of players who might be their savior while the star RB’s are out. He gives an update on the Slot WR Grid at Fantasy Guru and gives out his regular starts & sits of the week. Finally, Jeff ends the show with his Survivor Pool selection, his best bet and an upset of week five.

A very important episode this week as Jeff Mans breaks down the psychological part of fantasy football including how to identify and execute trades. He reacts to the Titans/Steelers game being postponed while offering some solutions for James Conner and Derrick Henry owners this week. Mans also give you his starts and sits for week four in fantasy football while going over his best and worst matchups in the trenches. Everything you need to win in seasonal, DFS, betting and even survivor pools in week number four is right behind the play button.

One MANS Opinion: Episode 32 – The Injury Bug

Week two was chaos as injuries jumped up and bit the NFL in a major way. Mans starts out recapping all of the injuries from week two, discusses who you should have picked up on waivers and what the long-term implications are of each situation. Then he goes through his Fantasy Guru rankings and tells you which players are for sure STARTS and which are SITS for week three. Since there are so many injuries to RB’s, Jeff reviews his updated RB Grid for the week complete with the new starters and handcuffs for all 32 NFL teams. Finally, he gives out his prediction for Thursday night football as well as his lock of the week and upset of the week for legalized sports betting purposes.
